How to work with me
I provide a counselling service for those who want to be real, not perfect. For those who are weathered by life and want to tell their story. For those who are survivors of trauma, abuse or pain and who seek healing to live anew. For those who would like to refresh their understanding of themselves.
How to start sessions with me
Get in touch: naomibrewercounselling@gmail.com and we can arrange an initial assessment; a chance for you to see if you would be happy to work with me and for me to see what I can offer you.
Following the assessment, we will set up a weekly meeting, which will cost £50 per 50min session, £90 for couples. This will be by Zoom or in person in Guildford on a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday between 9am and 8pm.
I work from the garden office shown, it is not overlooked and there is a parking space available.
My qualifications
I am a qualified Counsellor, registered with the NCS and UKCP. My primary training is in Transactional Analysis, I find this a useful tool alongside other techniques.
My first degree was a BA Hons in Natural Sciences, after which I studied for a PGCE. I am also a qualified Mountain Leader.
My experience
My experience is with a variety of areas; trauma, abuse, family dynamics, depression, anxiety, grief, workplace dynamics, sense of self, longterm illness and parenting issues. Many clients come with a crossover of symptoms or areas they would like to explore.
My diverse background gives me a broad world view, embracing many ways of life whilst acknowledging that no two people are the same.
A brief bio
I grew up in Liverpool then lived in various parts of the country and abroad, before settling in Guildford.
My work background is in teaching, detached youth work, and leading expeditions in mountains and 'off the beaten track' countries. The underlying theme in my work life has been facilitating personal development. It has been very fulfilling to take this further by training in psychotherapy.
I have a love of the outdoors and feel connected to it. Mountains and wild places are a source of restoration and healing for me.
